Love the product but hate the new packaging. Wish it was still able to be sharpened. But have no fear, you still get a TON of product. Just pull off the bottom with pliers, stick the end in an empty lip balm jar, and microwave it for about 30 seconds to a minute. Now you can use it in pot form. Hope this helps some of you! <3

You can sharpen them! Tip: wrap the ones you want to sharpen in a paper towel and place in your freezer for 15 minutes and then sharpen them! :) Same goes for the Jumbo Eye Pencils.

I LOVE this lip pencil! I have stared at it for the past week twisting it hoping it would move up. I logged on here to read the reviews that others have problems with how to sharpen. I took my finger nail and scraped the top of the shiny black (which I thought was plastic) and realized it can be sharpened with a pencil sharpener. Man I feel like a dork but my lips look great again!!! Love # 722 Hera!!

I purchased 721 Soft Fuschia, the color is great, but if you try to use a sharpener you'll ruin it. The piece the lip color comes out of is plastic. I will not purchase any more of these until NYX redesigns the packaging to a twist up.

Love the color and the product. Hate the fact that all you get with this pencil is the small amount you see at the top of the pencil. A week or so supply. Shame on you nyx. I have in the passed used and loved your products, I will give it a second thought before buying again

These are awesome little pencils! They come in great colors and are so easy to apply; plus, they feel like a lip balm meets a lipstick: not drying or uncomfortable at all! My complaint is that the plastic lids somehow get color all over them and can crack easily if you try to jam the lid on too hard (guilty!) -- otherwise, these are awesome little pencils PERFECT for traveling or keeping in your purse or at your desk. I will say that like most products, just keep them away from heat: they melt easily and because of the lid that can become a problem! Like the jumbo shadow pencils, these can be de-potted (de-sticked? haha) rather easily and put into a pot if you prefer!

These are great! You CAN sharpen them. What looks like hard plastic on the outside isn't. It is a very thin plastic coating, sprayed on for eye appeal so that the entire lip pencil's outward appearance appears a slick black. It isn't even 1/10th of a millimeter thick and behold that wood lies underneath! You sharpen these as you would any other lip pencil, except use the larger slot in your dual sharpener; yes they do fit.

I LOOOOOOVE this pencil! I just can't figure out how to sharpen it... Or do you only get what is on the tip? The color and feel is great, but if the tip is all you get it's definitely not worth the bother.
