NYX Cosmetics is seeking to hire a  Public Relations Director who will responsible for establishing and maintaining the positive brand image of our Company through public relations and social media programs. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the PR Director will work with internal teams and external agencies to execute cohesive and effective public relations strategies to align with marketing plans, business objectives and growth opportunities. The primary goal of the PR Director is to develop and implement public relations and social media initiatives that significantly widen the reach of our brand bringing more awareness and visibility to NYX Cosmetics worldwide.

Essential Responsibilities

Oversee Public Relations for NYX Cosmetics.  Develop and implement brand-building ideas, themes and initiatives in support of integrated marketing and communications campaigns. 
Manage PR initiatives and provide strategic insight that will drive business results by working directly with external agencies and internal departments, including Marketing and Sales.
Proactively identify opportunities to create and execute comprehensive PR programs including trade and consumer events, marketing tie-ins and promotions, strategic partnerships, fashion shows, and other industry events.
Develop, edit and manage all internal and external communications materials including press releases that maintain consistency with NYX messaging and editorial guidelines.
Work with Marketing and Ecommerce/Digital teams to develop and recommend compelling online marketing tools that will differentiate NYX from competitors. 
Manage existing social media contacts including beauty editors, vloggers and bloggers, and develop new relationships with up and coming beauty influencers including magazine beauty editors and other key social media influencers.  
Manage the event planning team to ensure cohesive brand positioning for all events including beauty trade shows and events, retailer events, fashion shows, marketing tie-ins and promotions.
Drive social media content strategy and facilitate content development and execution across social media outlets, such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. 
Directly manage external agency partners to provide strategic direction to agency partners by season, to provide documents, data and materials as needed to ensure they are well informed on NYX  existing and new products, events, programs and distribution and to ensure consistent, effective messaging, with a focus on maximizing brand awareness & ROI.
Work with the sales, marketing, product development and creative teams with planning, production and creative direction for global new product/store launches and other marketing initiatives to ensure accurate execution of material development and promotional materials.
Provide overall support for all social media outlets by identifying key beauty trends to develop exciting and appealing content.
In conjunction with various departments and upper management, strengthen the quality and frequency of keeping employees abreast of Company goals, results and activities.  
Serve as internal point person across organization on all communication and public relations activities, including sending current press clippings to domestic and international staff and distributing press samples for new product launches. 
Support international markets by providing ideas and strategies for public relations events in individual markets as requested, keep PR managers and distributors updated on US events, and provide public relations and new product materials as needed to support international initiatives.

Position Requirements

8-10 years strong public relations experience including relevant experience in the beauty and fashion realm 
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in marketing, public relations or communications.
Significant experience in social media, communications, strategic marketing, and special event development and execution. 
Expert in representing public relations on cross-functional teams and developing public relations and social media strategies for marketing plans.
Expert ability with writing, editing, content development and providing guidance for development of a range of PR and communication materials.
Outstanding communication and public speaking skills.
Comfortable working with ambiguity and proven ability to support new industry and new/emerging ideas. 
Experience working successfully with domestic and global public relations partners.
Passionate about beauty and fashion, creative and willing to take a risk to execute unique PR initiatives to positively expose our brand and create greater visibility to set us apart from our competitors.
Strong planning and project management skills with the ability to work well under pressure and able to manage multiple projects and priorities while continuously meeting tight deadlines.
Demonstrated track record of using communications and social media initiatives to help drive business results.
Highly creative and inventive in effective PR/Media strategies and planning.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of management.
Creative, positive, and high-energy individual with an ability to execute.
Sense of urgency, persistence, creative and a take-charge positive attitude.
