It started with a horrible bottle..
This primer is THICK... It hardly comes out of the tiny hole. I ended up using literally all my strength to get a small amount out. After messing around with it for a bit I had to cut a larger hole. So I am already frustrated with the horrible bottle. After applying the primer to my Tzone and added a small layer of foundation it looked great...UNTIL I started getting dressed for work... Before I was leaving I did a check over to find that the area where I applied the primer was peeling and looked like I had HORRIBLE dry skin. I have tried to use this primer a few time since and the same thing happens EVERYTIME.

DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE A DRY SKIN/FACE!
Title says it all! It dried out my face even worse and made my makeup flake in every possible spot, my makeup didn't even last 2 hours. The only reason it's getting at least two stars is that I liked how it felt after it dried on my face, since it dried very quick. I'm honestly very surprised that the primer didn't work as well as I wanted it to, since I've always loved the NYX brand and their products. Guess this one wasn't for me!

Hard to use, not effective
I bought this primer after having problems with an oily T zone for years. I bought it from the NYX store at Willowbrook Mall in NJ. I asked the sales assistant how to apply it and she said to dab it on and not to rub it on my skin. Basically this primer is more trouble than it is worth. I am by no means a make up connoisseur, but even when I put a small amount on my face it would clump up. I put a lot on my face and it still clumped up and became cakey. This cream was so frustrating to use and I was fed up of using it after 3 weeks. I read other reviews and I wish I had not purchased it! Even when I did use this product, my T zone became oily after around 2 hours or so. I can and I will stop using this product and I am annoyed I even spent the $14 to buy it in store!

This is the BEST primer for oily skin!
I have really oily skin. Usually within an hour of applying make up, I have to dab off the oil. I've found some great primers in the past, like Becca, but they all change their formula and become useless. This is a very low cost match for it. I flew fifteen hours across the country and my make up stayed on like I had just applied it.
Now, it is thick and it does cake if you put too much on in an area, so practice! I don't see that as a bad thing because it needs to be thick to work. I've spent hundreds of dollars trying to find a primer that works and this is the best out there.

Not what I expected but still ok
Wasn't what I expected. Can't use around/on eyebrows bc it wont allow eyebrow pomade to be applied. I use the nyx angel veil around my brows now and this on the rest of my face. Feels like super glue when applied, seems to help keep makeup in place too.

She STAYS
This primer does not move! Once it is on it absolutely acts as a barrier between foundation and skin. However, it is very sticky, and very difficult to get out of the container. This makes it at time hard to work with and it can dry out your skin. However, if you are looking for a primer that stays and mattifies this is it!

My go-to primer
This is my everyday primer. I have skin that tends to be oily and my makeup often felt like it was sliding off my face. I've tried multiple other primers with lackluster results. This one keeps my makeup where I put it, and keeps my face from feeling oily.
It is true that this stuff is thick and somewhat difficult to smooth. However, difficulties with the consistency of the product are easily remedied with a couple application tricks: 1) don't put it on if you have moisturizer or lotion on your hands or face. If you moisturize before makeup application, let it dry completely before priming. Reviews that talk about clumping are likely experiencing these results because they had leftover lotion on their faces or hands when applying. 2) apply it quickly and follow the directions regarding setting it. It specifies to set it by lightly tapping your face.
I highly recommend this product for people with shiny complexions, just note that you'll have to get used to the application a bit if you are accustomed to using really light and dewy primers.

Weird grey mask
Am I the only one who has tried this product with various foundations and it always creates this weird grey-ish mask into your face, which starts to tighten your skin like it was a facemask? After applying this product (in a way that is instructed) the primer starts to, I don’t know react with oxygen?! and changes its colour to white/grey. It does leave a matt finish, but your face is pale and you can see the primer through (even full coverage) foundation?! I might’ve received a lemon or it might have been already expired.

Great for oily t zone
I have a very oily t zone. By lunch, it's shiny and by 3pm it's an oil slick. This product is very thick, nearly bordering on difficult, and melts into the skin. I think it's going to take some getting used to to apply. That said, I'm barely dewy on my forehead nearly 11 hours after applying it my make up over it with zero touch ups. Also pleased the dryer parts of my face didn't suffer from becoming too dry. Very pleased to have found a primer that I can work with!!!

I absolutely love this primer. Does exactly what I need a primer to do. I have quite oily t-zone and this keeps me matte all day. It has an ever so slight white cast but it dosent matter since I use it under makeup anyways. Will definitely repurchase. I think I found my new favourite!!

Karate Kicked My Oily T-Zone
Love It!!! Happy to find a great product at a great price!! It's def rminds me of Becca primer but a MUCH better price without having to scarifice the staying power. I have a really shiny oily T-zone and this works great for me. If you're like me you already know how hard it is to find a great primer that works and doesn't break you out, I use a small foundation brush to put it on but just to the T-zone 10 minutes before putting on my foundation and 5 minutes after adding my sunscreen. I've been using this for 2 months I love it. Hoping it holds up to the upcoming NYC summer days #hotandhumid and I'll need to use on my whole face. This is not to be used on any dry areas or if you don't have oily/shiny issues!

Feels horrible
I bought this yesterday and have so far worn it alone. No foundation, just primer. When I first tried to squeeze it out, I couldn’t and I had to squeeze it really hard to get it out. It’s very thick and when you apply it to the skin, it doesn’t smooth out. It’s not smooth, just rough and thick. Also, it feels like your applying Elmer’s glue TO YOUR FACE. And the outcome looks like you put a white clay on your face Absolutely horrible and I wish I never wasted my money.

Dont like it.
I bought this about 2 weeks ago and I don't like it. After it dries, it becomes patchy on my face. I don't like the fact that this was made in China. I don't like my makeup products made in China.

Does what it’s supposed to
I bought this a month ago and I am pleased so far. I live in a very humid climate and it helps keep my makeup matte with minimal touching up required throughout the day. My skin in prone to breakouts however and I feel as though this primer clogs my pores.

VERY MATTE!!!
So I bought this to try with my Can't Stop Won't Stop Foundation. However the method of application of the primer is important as well as the application of the foundation. I bought the Can't Stop Won't Stop Brush and it just didn't work for me unfortunately. I began with the regular buffing/circular movements and it was very patchy. I had to overuse foundation to cover any streaks. It DOES HOWEVER go on like a dream with a beauty blender! I would recommend this to anyone with oily skin and struggles containing oils under makeup.

The primer I’ve been looking for!
I came across this primer in Ulta while aimlessly shopping around on my weekly spree. I saw the newest NYX products on an end cap and have always truly been more than satisfied with the quality of their products for the price points they have. I put a dollop on the the back of my hand, rubbed it in with an easy oil like glide (easy application) then tapped on it just like the packaging suggested. I was actually picking my jaw up off the ground because of how tacky the product got. The best way I could think to compare it was like non-slip tape on stairs. This stuff does not budge! I couldn’t wait to try it. (I was so optimistic I purchased all 4 boxes of the product). I’m a week into using it and I am floored. My makeup doesn’t budge!
I LOVE this product and recommend to anyone who has oily skin and is a full coverage queen like me!

Need Matte? Yes, please!
I have very oily skin and have tried plenty of mattifying primers, moisturizers, powders and sprays. High-end and budget friendly, never really made much of a visible difference. Until this primer. I didn't expect it to come out of the tube so thick when I put it on my fingertips to apply it. When I realized what the texture was like, I used a silicone applicator that has the gummy bear texture and patted, not rubbed, a small amount (green pea size) in localized areas on my face until I had my entire face covered. You can use fingers, but my experience was it applied a bit patchy. My local NYX store didn't have the CSWS foundation in the shade I needed, so I put Total Control over it using a silicone applicator. The results were flawless. Kept my oily skin in check with no oily breakthrough for 8+ hours. That's NEVER happened. In the spirit of oversharing: Went to sleep with a full face on, woke the next morning and no color transferred to my sheets!

dried up and odor
i bought this product because a worker at ulta says she has never used primer until the can’t stop won’t stop primer, when i got this primer it was dry and clumped up and very gross it was so dried i couldn’t even squeeze it out of the tube, i cut the top off to see inside and it was a clump of dried primer won’t ever use again and do not reccomend

Feels like Glue
I wanted to love this and the companion foundation. I don't normally need a primer but my face has become so horribly oily over the last couple of months that I needed to try something. I've bought five different foundations in as many months, attempting to not look like I put cooking spray on my cheeks and forehead. I've tried different face washes, wipes, toners, you name it. None of them have worked. When I first tried this primer I was shocked at how thick and difficult to get out of the tube. I tried using a small amount and it was dry and sticky almost as soon as it touched my face. It did not go on smoothly and I had to apply more, which I felt made it worse. Then when I tried applying the companion foundation, it went on dry, patchy, and did not blend well at all. I looked like a 12 year old trying makeup for the first time. The amount of primer required for application does not match the purchase price. I've already spent too much on makeup recently so I'm stuck with a product that doesn't work for me.

For the price, I expected it to be better. Squeezing the product out of the tube was very difficult. Application was also hard because the primer started to get sticky and dry before I could apply it evenly. Leaves a white cast on the face. My foundation (fenty) did not stay put nor my concelear (nars) - they normally do when I use other primers. Stay away from this primer. So dissapointed.

Decent coverage
I got mine via Influenster. This formula is lightweight without the primer. I tried with primer and it started caking up.. Kinda like dirt rolls when you exfoliate. Plus my skin felt a lil itchy. There's virtually no smell and it gives for coverage with a small amount. The primer seems to be water based. It goes on like Vaseline but eventually thins out. It definitely has a matte finish, but I wouldn't recommend for oily skin. It hugged all the nooks and crannies of my skin and was just messy after a few hours. Yikes. Will work for some but not all.
Their eye pencils are life though!!
