So my dad won ALOT of money in the lottery and he told all of us to get whatever we wanted on whatever website. I needed some new makeup and went on and purchased around 160$ worth of it and I can tell you right now as someone who rarely uses makeup NYX is the perfect makeup brand, it actually has me wearing makeup more often. I bought five of these eyeshadows and they are not to shimmery but not flat and dull! In love with them! BUY BUY BUY!

I bought one of these little guys in taupe at Ulta to bump my purchase up to the qualifying price for a discount. Lo and behold, it has become a staple. Even if I'm hardly wearing make up that day, I'll swipe this one to give my eyelids a pretty, even shadow. It has just enough shine not to fall flat and muddy, but not too much glitter that it's in the nighttime only territory. I wear it all the time, alone for a "natural" look or as a base for more colors :) On another note, I was a little weary of the quality before I bought this. After a glance at the ingredients, I notice talc was near the top of the list (an item with a history for weak pigments and irritating skin--not great for any powder makeup). I have very sensitive skin, but it was only $5 so I went for it. As of now, I have developed an allergy to nearly all my eye makeup except--believe it or not-- my Urban Decay and NYX brands. That is to say, this is not irritating, not "talc"-y in the least. The chemists at NYX are magicians!

I was on the lookout for a black matte eyeshadow, with no glitter and that does not turn grey/blue when you blend or apply it and I bought the Black NYX eyeshadow on a whim and it has been my go too black shadow! I put it all on my lid for my smokey eyes with urban decay primer and nothing else. i always get complimented on how dark it is and yes its even darker than MACs carbon love it! regret spending 15 on that eyeshadow :/

I dont really know what to say, usually I give makeup a chance, but this one was just not so great, its not as bold as I thought it would be, I bought the cherry color, thinking it would be either red or close to it, its more of a hot pink with shimmer in it, In here it looks reddish, so I was upset when I got it in the mail and it wasnt, you have to put on a lot to even see it good, so maybe it was just this color eyeshadow, but I am very disappointed about what I got.

I have several colors, and the consistency and performance of each color is pretty good. The texture is a little powdery for some of the shimmery ones, but most of them do have a nice, smooth texture. As for color pay-off, again, it depends on whether you are using a matte or glitter finish. My only complaint about these eye shadows is the swatches on the website. They were a little misleading. For example, Cherry is not a bright, shimmery red, but a bright, shimmery fuchsia. Golden has a lot of brown pigments / flecks in it, giving it a more coppery / bronze look instead of an antique or dark gold like described.

These shadows are AMAZING!!! I own too many to name BUT my absolute favorite is Salmon. The are very pigmented, blend easily, and inexspensive. I am in love!!!! Thanks NYX
